The Lake Travis tennis team easily took care of Rouse on Aug. 30.
The team took the victory 17-2, highlighted by impressive play against some of the tough Rouse boys players.
Adam Dokos and Erik Kerrigan had standout matches, while BG Slay and Tyler Wilkie were impressive in doubles play in a 6-1, 6-1 win.
The team rested some of its top girls players in the victory, paving the way for others to get some valuable experience on the court.
“Our boys played very well,” Lake Travis tennis coach Carol Creel said. ”They have some strong boys at Rouse, and I’m really impressed with how our boys competed. And our younger players are getting stronger in doubles, playing with confidence.”
Raven Hampton and Kristen Thorne earned top match honors in girls doubles with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win.
Lake Travis now travels to play in the Texas A&M Consolidated team tournament on Sept. 14-15, which features top teams in Region II, such as The Woodlands, Klein and College Park.
“Next weekend will be our big, as far as 5A competition goes,” Creel said. “It should be a good indicator of where we stand.”
