Coming through in the cold and wind, the Lady Cavs golf team overcame a three-stroke deficit to top district foe Westlake Saturday at Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station.

Lake Travis earned two of the top five medalist spots at the Lady Tiger Invitational, with Julia Beck firing a 75-76 151 to take third and Kristen Gillman shooting a 74-81 155 to take fourth.

Ann Parmerter shot a 81-82 161 and Emily Gillman finished at 79-86 165 as both made the top 10, with Courtney Ford just behind them at 80-86 166.

The Lady Cavaliers wound up with a two-day total of 308-325 633 to claim the top spot. Westlake had team scores of 305-331 636, and third was Smithson Valley with scores of 312-327 639.

The top two medalist spots went to Westlake’s Sierra Sims with a 67-76 143 and Smithson Valley’s Megan Woods with a 70-76 146.

The Lady Cavs play Friday at Morris Williams Golf Course in what will be a state preview tournament.


A crew of Lake Travis boys golfers came in fourth Saturday at the Big eagle Classic played in Killeen and Salado over two days.

The Cavaliers came in at 312-332 634 as Nick Winborn led the team with rounds of 75-79 154 to finish in the top 10.

The other Lake Travis scores were: Jacob Rodrigues 75-86 161, Jake Budde 79-83 162, Logan Zavala 85-84 169. Zach Joiner played Friday and shot an 83, and Steven Severance played Saturday and shot 93.
