Friday, March 29, 2013 |
Diana Hall’s Ballerina is one of several watercolor paintings by the students of Johnnie Fields on display at Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery through Tuesday.
Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery is displaying the paintings of students of Johnnie Fields’ 2013 watercolor class through Tuesday.
The exhibit may be viewed from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing.
The painters who attend the “Watercolor Can Be Fun” class for four weeks at the Lakeway Activity Center are active community members of Lakeway and The Hills. Meeting as a class seems to inspire the artists and motivates them to pursue their creative ambition.
Well known locally for his artwork, Fields grew up in Austin and received a degree in architecture from the University of Texas. He developed a love for painting in watercolor and has attended watercolor workshops across the country from Maine to Wyoming over the past 20 years. He is a past president of the Waterloo Watercolor Group in Austin.
