Sara Hickman will entertain audiences at Bee Creek United Methodist Church’s fundraiser April 27 that will benefit La Senda Christian Home and School.
Bee Creek United Methodist Church outreach supporting La Senda Christian Home and School has set this year’s fundraiser for April 27 from 5-9 p.m. at Angel’s Ice House, 21815 Texas 71.
Entertainment lineup is Sara Hickman, 2010-11 Official State Musician of Texas; Vocal Group of the Year at the 2011 Texas Music Awards, 2-Bit Palomino; and Bob Cheevers, Texas Music Awards 2011 Singer Songwriter of the year.
For a $30 ticket, guests may enjoy the live music, a barbecue dinner, silent auction, raffle and a fun night with family and friends for a very worthy cause. Tickets are $5 for children younger than 10.
Last year’s event drew close to 300 people and raised almost $35,000 for La Senda Christian Home and School.
Missionaries Steve and Pamela English founded The World Our Parish Inc. in 1998 for the purpose of establishing and supporting a mission in Guatemala.
La Senda, or “The Way,” provides a home for abused, abandoned and orphaned children. Fourteen children are living permanently at the home.
The school was added as a way to educate La Senda’s children. It opened its doors to the public in 2004, and attendance has grown to more than 150 students.
Teams from Bee Creek UMC have been going there for six years, and the church helps support La Senda Home and School.
