The city of Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department is accepting entries for the 38th annual Fourth of July Parade set for at 8:30 a.m. July Fourth.

The parade will follow its traditional route south along Lakeway Drive from Live Oak Golf Course to Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek.

This year’s parade theme of Red * White * Blue & Golden will celebrate 50 years of Lakeway. Floats, bands, musical groups, walking and equestrian groups, golf carts, classic cars and other entries are invited to participate and encouraged to be decorated in a patriotic theme. The entry deadline is June 28.

Awards will be presented after the parade at the Pageant of Flags at the Activity Center. Parade entries will be judged on presentation of the theme, creativity, patriotic emphasis, effort and instant impression. One entry will win Best of Parade.

To participate in the Fourth of July Parade, complete a parade entry form and return it to City Hall at 1102 Lohmans Crossing or mail it to Paula Crawley, Parade Chair, at 403 Eagle, Lakeway, Texas 78734.

Organizers are looking for convertibles to join in the parade and chauffeur dignitaries through the parade route. Anyone with a convertible and are interested in driving a dignitary should contact Tere McKenna as soon as possible at teremckenna@austin.rr.com.

For information, contact Crawley at 350-8886 or email paulacrawley83@gmail.com.
