What was this area like 100 years ago? How did this little slice of Central Texas heaven evolve into the vibrant community it is today?

Local music buffs and historians alike are in for a treat this month at the Lakeway Sing Along’s spring show “50 Years of Lakeway” at 6:30 p.m. April 25-27 at Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek.

To commemorate our community’s 50th anniversary, Lakeway Sing Along director Ernie Clay has woven a mosaic of unforgettable songs and history snippets from the earliest days of what is now Lakeway into a dinner show evening that will have audiences toe-tappin’ and finger-snappin’ till the last curtain comes down.

Memorable show tunes, movie themes and a parody or two will be part of the music featured in the fast-paced program that will feature such favorites as “I’m On My Way,” “Puff the Magic Dragon,” “Dancing Queen” and even “From Russia with Love.” Being a singer is not a requirement for attending, but those so inclined will have ample opportunity to “pitch” in on some of the songs.

Tickets are available for $30 at the Activity Center. Dinner will be served before the show, which is BYOB.
